One of our main action lines is knowledge transfer to improve the monitoring and reporting capabilities of local institutions.
Remote sensing data can be linked to socioeconomic and environmental information, such as the spatial distribution of plantations in relation to various land rights, distance to water sources and population centres, soil erosion rates, etc.
By using spatial data visualization techniques, project partners and sponsors are able to see where activities have been carried out and whether their impact is still visible years later. Participants will thus improve their ability to implement successful projects and communicate project results more effectively to their partners.
Target audience:
Students, young researchers, and professionals with experience in international development projects who would like to further qualify and professionalize their skills in project monitoring and evaluation using geographic information systems.
Who can apply?
(1) DAAD students and graduates;
(2) Students of development programmes in Germany;
(3) Relevant applicants from the Global South.
A total of 20 participants will be accepted.
